The "Corn Guapito" is a recipe created in the state of Zulia in western Venezuela. It is a sweet corn dough boiled and wrapped in corn husks. Its origins date back to the time when Christopher Columbus discovered America around the year 1412, however, the exact date of creation is not documented because it was indigenous people (Añu and Paraujanos) who prepared this handmade delicacy.
In other cities of Venezuela it's known as "Cachapa de Hoja" or "Bollito" and there are many variations of the recipe in others countries around Latin America, known as "Tamales", "Hallaquitas", "Humita" "Envuelto Subido" and many others.

In addition, for the Venezuelan people, dishes like this has been dearly missing by the immigrants who has had to leave their country of origin thanks to the political, economic and social crisis that Venezuela is going through.
